Red Bull's Soap Box Derby is coming to MANAYUNK on Sept 6, 2008!
Red Bull Soapbox Race will challenge 40 teams of up to four members each to craft zany human-powered driving machines to race against the clock in a downhill dash to the finish line. On September 6, Philly’s finest will have the chance to put their skills to the test down Lyceum Ave in Manayunk, also known as “The Wall”. This course will test not only these teams’ engineering skills, but their creative prowess as well.
You heard us right, this is NOT your average boy scout derby. Toilets, tooth fairies and space ships have been seen screeching through Red Bull Soapbox Race before, so who knows what the land of Mummers will bring to the track!
